Text flourishing is the art of adding expressive, graceful ornamentation to your script without losing clarity. In this workshop, we break down the core principles that make flourishing feel natural like movement, balance, spacing, rhythm, and confident stroke control.
You’ll learn how to build smooth curves, enhance simple letterforms, add light decorative terminals, and understand where flourishes belong for the best visual impact. Through guided drills and demonstrations, you’ll develop the foundational skills needed to flourish with intention rather than guesswork.
This workshop is ideal for beginners stepping into flourishing for the first time, as well as calligraphers who want to clean up their technique before moving into more advanced work.

1. Do I need prior experience in calligraphy?
No. This workshop is beginner-friendly. Basic knowledge of pointed pen scripts is helpful, but not required.
2. What materials do I need for the workshop?
You’ll need a pointed pen holder, nib, ink, and smooth practice paper. A full materials list will be emailed to you after you join.
3. Will the session be recorded?
Yes, you’ll receive the recording of 90 Days after the session so you can review and practise at your own pace.
4. Will there be an advanced version of this workshop?
Yes, there is an advanced Text Flourishing workshop will be offered later. Joining this workshop prepares you well for it.
